It's official: the good times of summer in Philadelphia are back with the return of the Center City District Sips 2015 season, June 3-September 2.
Every Wednesday evening starting next Wednesday, June 3, nearly 90 participating bars and restaurants host happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. with $5 cocktails, $4 wine, $3 beer and half-price appetizers.
With so many Center City Sips participants this summer, bar-goers can pick a new spot to check out on each of the 14 Wednesday evening happy hours.
Tried-and-true Sips stops will return in 2015 — huge outdoor patios like Chops Restaurant at the Comcast Center and Marathon Grill at 19th and Market streets — right alongside newcomers like Aldine, Gran Caffe L’Aquila and Rosa Blanca Caf at Dilworth Park.

Plus, Sips-goers should keep an eye out for a large Center City Sips bash to hit Rosa Blanca Caf at Dilworth Park on June 3, July 1 and August 5 — think an expanded patio, live DJ and more.
For those who can’t wait until the start of Sips on June 3, a pre-series kickoff party is set for today, Wednesday, May 27 at Marathon at 19th and Chestnut.
This year's liquor sponsor of Center City Sips, 2 Gingers Irish Whiskey, will be used in one of the $5 cocktails at many of the Center City Sips spots, but a full range of liquor, beer and wine will flow, too.
Remember, the Philadelphia Parking Authority offers free meter parking in Center City after 5 p.m. on Wednesday evenings (except for rush-hour zones, which are free after 6:30 p.m.). The boundaries are from the Delaware River to the Schuylkill River and from Bainbridge to Spring Garden streets.
With super happy hour deals and free parking, Wednesday nights in Philadelphia this summer sure will be sweet.
Go ahead, plan on sipping through summer.
