The season of catching great movies in the great outdoors is here, Philly.

Every Friday night from June 26 through August 14, The Awesome Fest will return with free outdoor movie screenings for all to enjoy.

The series will call Liberty Lands Park home this summer and will screen independent films beginning at 9 p.m. — many of the films on the roster are Philadelphia premieres, too.

The series kicks off on Friday, June 26 with a screening of Call Me Lucky, a documentary about Barry Crimmins, a stand-up comic.

Beyond the first screening, under-the-radar independent films of all sort take the spotlight — from horror films to comedies that have been viewed at some of the top film festivals in the world (think Sundance and the Cannes Film Festival). The full schedule of films is available here and below.

Admission to the outdoor movie nights are completely free, just bring a blanket to spread out on.
